I am on a personal journey to expand my horizons and what better area to work on than music. I will be putting my patience and determination to the test! I know that new skills require practice and this will be a challenge but I am ready to take it on. I will be learning how to play a couple songs on the Ukulele as well as some basic chords and strumming patterns. I have never really viewed myself as a musical person but if I am going to be a teacher then I am going to need to at least try to be. The Ukulele will be an awesome tool to use in my classroom and I am determined to master at least a few songs! Wish me luck!!!!

I have started to explore the beginner stages of learning how to play the Ukulele and have decided to learn the songs Rip Tide by Vance Joy as well as Hey Soul Sister by Train. For these two songs I will need to learn the chords A minor, G, C, and F. As for strumming patterns there are a couple different ones I will need to learn for each song as there are different parts to the songs with different strumming patterns (intro, verses, chorus, and bridge). I have begun to learn the different chords already but the real challenge will come when I have to put all these little pieces together into a full song!
