I have picked the inquiry topic of  Language /communication tools for the Classroom! right away my mind does to  language and speech delay as well as augmented communication devices for students with special needs. I began my research there, specifically looking into what technologies are available in the classroom for these learners as well as a little bit of information regarding how teachers typically respond to students with these needs.

I found that many students who have language or speech delays are often seen as trouble students as their lack of understanding is mistaken as purposeful disobedience. I also found that language and speech delays are pretty common in the classroom and can be hard to diagnose. What I had a little bit of trouble finding was the part regarding what teachers in the general classroom can do to assist these students. There was mostly just research regarding what speech pathologists and specialists could do which makes sense as they would be working with the teacher to come up with strategies. This led me to think about broadening up my research!
